Thursday Qs

Title: What's the Point?

Passage: 1 Peter 2:9-10

Icebreaker: What is your prized possession? Why is it so special to you? This could be a musical instrument, a watch, a letter from a loved one, etc.

Review: One last time–can someone share the definition “sanctification” that our group came up with?

Reflect: What from the sermon stood out to you? What was challenging, comforting, or confusing?

Sermon Questions:
1. Why does Peter call Christians “a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession” (1 Peter 2:9)? How does that challenge how you see yourself and your friends?

2. Following Jesus is hard! What makes it hard to keep going in the Christian life (i.e. time, boredom, distraction, discouragement, loneliness, etc.)?

3. God set you apart to love as you have been loved. How does this change how you think about your role in your family, school, teams, etc.?

4. What are specific ways to “proclaim” God’s love when you go back to your home, school, church, etc.?

5. What is one encouragement about God’s love you are taking away from this week? What is one risk you want to take to follow Jesus this summer?

Close in prayer for God to remind us of his love as we return home, so that we can love the people he has put in our life.
